Lucky number 7.
This Race Red baddie had us scratching our heads a bit when it hit the floor. Anyone's first assumption when seeing a guitar with a number decal on it would probably be that a previous owner had just slapped it on there for whatever reason. But that may not be the case with this one. You see, that 7 decal has been lacquered over, and this guitar gives us no other indication of having a refin at any point in its life. Perhaps the builders at the Tokai Gakki plant just got the vibe that this Tele was particularly lucky!
Pick this guitar up and play it a little, and you just might agree with them! The maple U-shaped neck has a thickness of 0.860" inches at the 1st fret and 0.950" at the 12th fret, and the rosewood fretboard has a radius of 9.5".
The electronics in it are all stock, from the 3-way blade selector switch, to the tone and volume pots, to the stock tele pickups, rated at 0.923k in the neck and 0.950k in the bridge.
The one modification you may notice on this guitar is the D-tuner on the low E string up at the headstock. This little guy gives you the ability to instantly tune down to drop D with the flip of a little lever, and back up with ease!
This guitar has been lightly used, as can be seen with some minor surface swirling and a few nicks in the finish here and there, but other than that this guitar is in excellent condition. Our master luthiers here at EMS have given it a fresh setup and leveled the frets to ensure it will play better than it has in its 20+ years since leaving the factory!
We'll ship this lucky fella to you super fast and super safe in its SKB hardshell case. Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about it!
