What else can be said about this green dude that hasn't already been covered before. Often imitated but never duplicated, the TS808 Tube screamer very well may have spawned more off-shoots and variations than any other pedal on the market.
Featured here is a quality Ibanez reissue of the industry standard. This modern TS808 includes the same JRC4558D IC chip and analog circuitry as the original, and features traditional overdrive, level, and tone controls.
However, this one has been modified by the man himself, Robert Keeley! At some point in this screamer's life, Keeley snuck a NOS opamp chip in there and suped this dude up! This one will have much more gain than your average TS808 at higher settings, a lot more smoothness and clarity at lower settings, and a more neutral EQ for those mid hump haters. Plus it's got a regular footswitch instead of those janky rectangular buttons that always go bad!
