If you're looking for a conversation piece look no further! This vintage ax is as rare as it is strange. My guess is it was found in the hands of a long dead carnival barker off some forgotten highway. Ok, considering it's good condition, that scenario is probably pretty unlikely.
Let's talk specs:
This sunburst oddity has a comfortable D shape profile and 9.5" radius that measures 0.95" thickness at the first fret, and 1.065" at the 12th fret. Nut width comes in at 1.78" and weighs a manageable 5.5lbs.
It's got two Ry Cooder gold foil pickups designed to recreate a smooth tone that sounds great at both crystal clear rolled-back volumes and when heavily driven (N: 7.81k, B: 7.88k).
These pickups each have their own individual toggle switches, as well as shared volume and tone knobs. That's two knobs, two switches, and one cool looking instrument. To complete the look and feel, this guitar is equipped with the original tremolo; although at some point in its travels the bridge was replaced with a Roller Tune-o-matic.
This rare electric has some playware and includes some nicks and dings (see pictured) but none of that affects the playability for an instrument of its age. The pro techs here at EMS have given this thing some proper care including a fret level and full setup to the best of its ability considering it doesn't have a truss rod. It does not include a case but will ship out swiftly and packaged safely.
