Love 'em or hate 'em Paul Reed Smith guitars are meticulously made with superb attention to detail not only play-wise, but aesthetically as well. This 10-Top is an example of some of the top tier PRS guitars created.
A very small percent of the maple trees cut in North America are actually figured. To make “10-Top” status, a PRS top must have clearly defined figure across its entire top. A guitar designated as a 10-Top will have a small “10” written on the back of the headstock in the upper right corner.
In addition to that gorgeous figured "10" maple top, the back of the body is constructed of mahogany, and is complemented with a maple C-profile neck (0.860"-0.950") and rosewood 9.5" radius fretboard with a nut width of 1.675". All that comes together in a beautiful package weighing a manageable 7.66lbs.
Under the hood, it comes loaded up with the stock 57/08 humbuckers, with output ratings of 8.37k in the neck and 9.22k in the bridge. Those pups are controlled by a master volume and tone control, 5-way blade pickup selector, and the humbuckers are coil tapped via the 5-way selector in positions 2 & 4!
This guitar has been used, but not abused. It shows some very minor signs of playwear like some surface swirling and a couple of very minor dings. All purely cosmetic, and very minor. Like all guitars here at EMS, this PRS has received a fresh setup from our expert luthiers to ensure that it plays perfectly with low, easy action, precise intonation, level frets, and zero fret buzz or dead notes.
