You gotta hand it to Guild, in a sea of Fender and Gibson body style clones–this is something properly unique. You're not just looking at an offset that started melting in a hot car folks. This is a in fact a kick-ass, elegantly designed instrument with a flowing body style choc-full of switches, knobs, buttons, and thank the lord, LABELS!! Who knew a fella could be so stoked about some words? By the time you're done reading this listing, you'll be sure to have that mouse hovering over the add to cart button.

The original Guild Thunderbird was well, a rare bird. First unveiled in the 60's, they were hard to come by and thus developed a cult followed. Answering to desires, Guild decided to reissue the T-Bird and here we are! Rocking a set neck style construction, this bad Larry is made entirely from mahogany under the beautiful gloss black finish! A sturdy choice to maintain a light yet quality feeling instrument weighing in at only 7.42lbs. Adorning the neck is a smooth rosewood fret board with block inlays sporting a thickness of .855 at the 1st and .965 at the 12th with a radius of 9.5" and a 1.695" nut width.

On to the star of the show, the hardware and electronics. This can get a little complicated so we're gonna refer to our friends at Premier Guitar's eloquent wording. Needless to say it's a lot!

"The switching system—particularly the 3-switch array—conjures the look and, to some extent, the function of the Jaguar’s. You activate the 3-switch set by setting the slider switch by the bridge pickup to the down position. This enables you to use the bridge and neck pickups individually or together and switch in the bass-cut tone capacitor for any combination. Switching the two-position switch to the “up” setting gives you the neck pickup exclusively, which enables you to shape different neck-pickup tone profiles using the independent volume and control sets, and switch between them using the mode switch. You can’t perform the same dark-to-light tone shifts within the range of the bridge pickup, although the tone capacitor switch is useful for creating a thinner, more high-mid-focused and single-coil-like tone that sounds cool for funky vamps and with thin fuzz tones."

Pair all that with the rad Hagstrom style vibrato? Absolutely sick! Not to mentions its been given the full 9 yards by our best in class luthiers including a top notch setup.
