This thing is so sweet. Our jaws dropped plugging into this amp. You know how grandmas always say their cookies are made with love? So was this amp. Like Sauron with the One Ring, but instead of cruelty, malice, and will to dominate all life, Mark Sampson poured his love, kindness, and will to curate beautiful guitar tones into this amp.
Powered by a pair of EL84s and pushed by a pair of 12AX7's, the Tornado is the perfect combination of headroom and breakup. For small stages or studio use, this amp would be a perfect clean platform for your favorite pedals. But crank that volume knob up past noon, and you'll push those 12AX7's into sweet blissful natural low-wattage overdrive, without ever reaching painful levels of volume.
This amp shows some signs of use, as you'd expect an amp of its age and reputation. It's been gigged as it should! But it has been handled gently, and is still in perfect working order.
