They were workhorses of their era, and have now become highly coveted cult classics; Sunn amps are undeniable powerhouses of amplification.
This amp's little brother, the 200S, is a classic example in the pantheon of "great bass amps that sound great on guitar". The 2000S expands upon that, featuring a quad of KT88's for an absolutely devastating 120 watts of output power. It has all the bottom end you could ever need. Bass players love the rumble from running this head through 15" and 10" speakers, or run it through a 4x12 cab for a pristine headroom guitar pedal platform.
On the front you'll notice two parallel inputs for independent normal and bright channels, which also allow you to jump the channels into each other for some extra breakup. And if you can stomach it (and have a nice set of ear plugs), dime that baby out to push it into pure tube-saturated overdriven bliss.
This amp has been gigged and used in its nearly six decade career, and it shows some signs of playwear. But it has been thoroughly tested and gone through, and it is perfectly functional and sounds amazing.
