The name "Pawn Shop Series" may evoke the image of crappy, beat-up, cheap instruments to some, but what Fender really did with the Pawn Shop Series was bring to life new iterations of classic vintage models with modern build quality. New "old" modified gems that would've ended up in an estate sale or in a pawn shop for some lucky player to stumble upon their new favorite workhorse.
The Pawn Shop Mustang bass harkens back to the original Mustang bass of the 70's, but with a fresh spin on it. The classic appointments such as an alder body, maple C-profile neck (0.870"-0.970"), rosewood 9.5" radius fretboard, and 1.525" nut width will feel familiar to Mustang players, but the addition of that humbucker pickup with a scorching output rating of 22.9k brings this bass into the modern era. Thematically, it's as if some ambitious player routed their favorite 70's Mustang and stripped the original electronics because they just needed MORE POWER.
This bass shows some very minor signs of playwear, but it is in excellent playing condition! Like all instruments here at EMS, our expert luthiers have given this bass a full fret level and fresh setup to ensure that it plays with low, easy action, spot-on intonation, and zero fret buzz or dead notes.
