Hop in an aluminum-necked time machine back to the early 80's with this badass bass beast from Kramer!
Make all of your stoner rock dreams come true with this monster of a bass. The luthiers at Kramer were really onto something in the 70's when they started this series of guitars and basses, hybridizing different woods within the instrument body and even wood and metal within the neck construction.
The body is made of mahogany and maple, while the neck is constructed of layers of maple laid into aluminum. With a thick-C profile (0.859"-0.975" thickness) and a 14" radius ebony fretboard, the neck on this thing is super comfortable and will sustain for days.
Under the hood, this bass comes loaded up with the stock pickups, controlled by a vast array of knobs and switches for tone options til the cows come home! A volume control for each independent pickup, a master tone control, 3-way pickup selector switch, phase toggle switch, and a series-split-parallel toggle switch. When this bass came to us the electronics had been heavily modified, but our in-house luthiers did the right thing and reverted this bad boy back to stock wiring, the way God intended.
Speaking of things being heavily modified, obviously this bass has been refinished in that metallic electric bass, and we think it looks pretty badass. At some point the previous owner had screwed a pickup cover into the body, causing the finish to crack a bit around that middle pickup, but the crack is purely cosmetic and has not compromised the body at all. This bass clearly shows other signs of use throughout, but these all just contribute to the overall mojo of this player-grade vintage bass.
Like all instruments here at EMS, our expert luthiers have given it a full fret level and fresh setup, as well as a full rewire with brand new components to ensure that it functions flawlessly and plays even better than the day it left the factory.
