Straight outta Fuji-Gen, the 90's Japanese Fenders are some of our favorite guitars around these parts! But don't let this guitar's origins in the land of the Rising Sun fool you, it's got honky tonkin in its blood!
The Telecaster has been the go-to axe for countless Broadway and session players alike in Music City for decades, and was taken to new heights, as legend has it, in the early 80's by Joe Glaser when he had the idea to start adding a Stratocaster middle pickup to a Tele. And thus the "Nashville Telecaster" was born! Taking its already iconic tonal palette and expanding it to cover newer realms of spank and twang. This concept quickly caught on, and got back to the folks at Fender, who eventually decided to start implementing it as a legitimate stock model.
Fast forward to the mid-90's, and this sweet baby was born! It's got all the classic Tele appointments: alder body weighing a super easy 7.06lbs, maple neck measuring 0.823" at the 1st fret and 0.906" at the 12th fret, and a rosewood 10" radius fretboard with a nut width of 1.661".
It comes loaded up with the stock Fender pickups, with output ratings of 6.72k in the bridge, 6.62k in the middle, and 5.75k in the neck. Controls are a classic 5-way blade selector switch and just a simple master volume and master tone knob.
This guitar has been gigged in its career. It's got little nicks and dings and finish cracks throughout (see pics). All things you'd expect to see from a well-loved workhorse. Like all guitars here at EMS, it has received a full fret level and fresh setup from our expert luthiers, and we can guarantee it plays better than it ever has!
We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe in its included hardshell case! Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about this guitar!
