The Esquire was Fender's first electric solid body guitar, made available to the public in 1950. Shortly after, it was renamed the Broadcaster, and then eventually became the Telecaster.

Now, 70 years later, the fine folks at Fender have reissued the Esquire with modern specs and accoutrements. This particular one, in stunning Lake Placid Blue, features a roasted pine body, complemented by a "U" profile maple neck measuring 0.882" at the 1st fret and 0.986" at the 12th, 9.5" radius fretboard, and 1.68" nut width.

The electronics are what set the Esquire apart from the modern Telecaster. This bad boy is loaded with a single Tim Shaw designed Esquire bridge pickup (7.83k). "But EMS, only one pickup? What if I want more tone options than that?" We're glad you asked. Not only do you get a master volume and tone control on this, but it also has a 3-way toggle switch, that allows you to switch to a preset treble rolloff, or completely bypass the tone circuit altogether.

This Esquire is VERY lightly used. It's still got the plastic on the pickguard. If you look hard enough in the right light you may find a tiny scratch or two, but that'd be it. Our expert luthiers here at Eastside have given it a fresh fret level and setup, and ensured that it'll land in your hands playing even better than the ones from the factory.

We'll ship this fella to you lightning fast in its tweed hardshell case! Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about it!
