The Stratocaster is one of the most classic designs in the world of music. Ask any 5-year-old to draw a guitar, and chances are they're going to draw a Stratocaster.
This one was might right here in the US of A, and it has a few extra goodies under the hood that raise it to "deluxe" status. But before we get into those extra goodies, let's talk about the classic appointments you know and love from this timeless axe.
The body, constructed of solid ash, is finished in a gorgeous aged cherry sunburst. It's complemented with a modern C-profile maple neck (0.853"-0.883") and 9.5" radius rosewood fretboard, and a nut width of 1.69".
Now for what's under the hood: the pickups are all stock single coils, with output ratings of 6.15k in the neck, 6.32k middle, and 10.71(!) in the bridge. But the real magic comes from the state-of-the-art Fender S-1 switching system. With this engaged, it gives you a whole new set of tonal options via the 5-way blade switch.
With the S-1 system disengaged, the 5-way blade switch gives you the usual pickup selection options you're used to:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge and Middle Pickup in Parallel
Position 3. Middle Pickup
Position 4. Middle and Neck Pickup in Parallel
Position 5. Neck Pickup
Then when you engage it, you expand your options to:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup in Series with Middle Pickup
Position 2. Bridge Pickup in Parallel with Special Capacitor and in Series with Middle Pickup
Position 3. Bridge/Middle/Neck Pickups with Neck and Bridge Pickups in Parallel and in Series with Middle pickup
Position 4. Neck Pickup in Parallel with Special Capacitor and in Series with Middle Pickup
Position 5. Neck Pickup in Series with Middle Pickup
