If you're feeling a little confused, intrigued, fascinated, and/or a combination of all three, you are not alone friend. Born as a product of Fender's "Alternate Reality" series, the Powercaster takes the beloved offset shape and gives it a hot rodded kick. Something to be expected when dealing with a guitar that was designed by Alex Perez, the brilliant mind behind Jim Root's Jazzmaster.
Starting from the ground up, the guitar was the iconic Jazzmaster silhouette. The body is carved from Alder wood, a standard we've come to expect from quality Fender guitars, wrapped up in an eye catching white opal finish. Moving up to the neck we start to move into the alternate reality this guitar comes from. The roasted maple with Pau Ferro board combo creates much welcomed contrast that invokes a more metallic energy, like this thing is asking you to whoop out your sickest riffs on it. The neck measurements come in as follows: .897" thick at the 1st fret, .902" at the 12th, with a 1.652" nut width and a 9.5" fretboard radius.
For electronics, we got full stock on this shred machine but don't let that get you down. For we are still in an alternate reality friends. In the bridge we have a Fender Atomic Humbucker that's been paired with an MP-90 soap bar pickup in the neck. This unique pairing isn't just for looks. It brings the heat for searing distorted tones while maintaining clear attack and articulation. Giving you the reigns to these gnarly beasts are a set of volume and tone pots as well as a three way toggle switch. Unique, powerful, and practical are all some immediate descriptors that come to mind.
While this guitar came to us lightly used in near pristine condition, we here at EMS got some high standards! Just to be safe, our luthiers gave this thing a fresh set of strings and a bangin setup to ensure once this guitar reaches you it's primed and ready to rock on whatever you throw it at! (Metaphorically speaking, please don't throw this lovely guitar)
