Gibson Melody Maker Cherry Red 1965

A glorious player-grade Melody Maker which has aged to a beautiful checked finish. This bird is chimey and resonant as all get out.

Crafted completely from mahogany, this thing is light as a feather, weighing in at just 5.86lbs. The matching mahogany neck has a thickness measuring 0.79" at the 1st fret and 1.00" at the 12th, and it sports a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard. The nut measures in at 1.65". Whew! That got nerdy. Let's keep rollin', shall we?

The original pickup has been swapped out for a sweet Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90 Dogear with an output rating of 8.55k.

This classic tone machine has clearly seen its fair share of stages. At some point in its life it suffered a headstock break, which has been repaired and our luthiers have inspected it thoroughly to make sure that it is stable. The finish shows some beautiful checking, as well as some chips and scratches throughout from its 6 decade career.

Like all guitars at EMS, our expert luthiers have given this baby a full fret level and a fresh setup to ensure that it plays immaculately the moment you pick it up. We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe in its included Gibson leather gig bag.
