Zip up them tight leather pants and cut those sleeves off, this is a bona fide shredder straight out of the days of hair metal. Man, this thing is sweet. God bless Grover Jackson.
This badass guitar left the San Dimas factory in 1986, and it has some stories to tell. Classic maple body complemented by a matching maple slim C-profile neck with a thickness measuring 0.775" at the 1st fret and 0.875" at the 12th fret. It has a sweet ebony 16" radius fretboard featuring those iconic shark fin inlays, and a nut width of 1 11/16".
For electronics, this bad boy is loaded up with a super hot EMG 81-B active humbucker in the bridge with an output rating of 25.5k, and the original Jackson J-100 single coil pickups with output ratings of 6.24k in the neck and 6.20 in the middle.
Those pickups are controlled by three independent on/off toggle switches so you can mix and match freely without having to remember which position on the ole blade switch corresponds to what. And those two knobs are both volume controls, one to control the volume for the humbucker, and the other controlling the volume of the single coils. No tone knob. Because why would you ever want less tone???
Oh and did we mention the Kahler trem? Now you can divebomb to your heart's content, and rise like the phoenix to soaring, squealing heights, and come right back down without ever having to retune. Damn, this thing is badass. Somebody come buy this ripper before our luthier takes it home.
This guitar has obviously been used in its nearly 4 decade career, but it has been well taken care of. Like all guitars here at EMS, it has received a full fret level and setup, ensuring that it lands in your hands with low, easy action, zero fret buzz, and spot-on intonation. We'll ship it to you lightning fast and snug as a bug in a rug in its hardshell case.
