Ahh yes, the ever-controversial Norlin era. Some questionable choices, some downright atrocious builds, and some genuine gems. We think "The V" is one of those gems.

Somehow this guitar manages to squeeze both original 50's vibe and 80's hair metal steeze into the same package. Obviously in the early 80's, Gibson was trying to appeal to the rock and metal crowd who at the time, but something about that Curly Maple Top (yes, that's what the CMT stands for) just feels old school.

As we've already stated, the top is maple, and guess what... so is the rest of the body. But wait, don't forget about the neck! Because it's also made of maple! 3-piece flame maple, to be exact. It's got a C-profile and a thickness of 0.800" at the 1st fret, and 1.0" at the 12th. Nice round numbers. That neck is topped with an ebony 12" radius fretboard, and a nut width of 1.67".

All that maple in this bad boy comes out to weigh a manageable 8.54lbs. Now let's take a look under the hood. It comes loaded up with a pair of Gibson Dirty Fingers, and they are HOT. The neck has an output rating of 15.30k, and the bridge even exceeds that at 15.53k!

This guitar has obviously been used in its illustrious career. It's got nicks and dings and battle scars, but it is still in gorgeous shape. And it's in even better playing shape, thanks to the fret level and setup our in-house luthiers gave it!

We'll ship this badass V to you super fast and super safe in its original hardshell case. Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about it!
