The stick by which all others are measured, The Klon Centaur.
The most sought after pedal in all guitardom has long been on the wishlist of many a player seeking incredible transparent overdrive tone to elevate their tube amps to that perfect, buttery sweet spot. The original Klon, famously goop'd and eventually reverse engineered, utilizes specific 1N34A germanium diodes in the clipping stage and features a custom dual-stacked potentiometer that blends the clean input signal directly with the distorted signal as the gain knob is turned providing a smooth, organic response by which many many pedals have since been based. I believe it was non-guitarist Nature Boy Ric Flair that said it best "Often imitated, never duplicated. WOO!"
Bill released the original gold Klon in 1994 and later manufactured the silver and "no horsie" Klon from 2003 until retiring the original circuit altogether in 2008. This particular unit is serial #3073 of 4000 total silver versions built in a five year period. Better still, it's in great condition and features all its original components! Whether you're looking to add to your collection or bravely slap it on your live rig for some drool inducing reactions, you'll be hard pressed to find a better piece of gear to turn both heads and ears alike.
