They really just don't make them like they used to.
The Roland RV-800 is one of the best studio stereo reverb units out there. Released in 1979, it has been used in countless studios on countless records.
The unit has a built-in compression that pairs well with the reverb, and maintains crystal clear sound quality with very little clipping or distortion no matter the input source. Direct signal and reverb signal can be independently panned within the stereo field as well, opening a wide range of sounds possible. It also has the ability to switch the direct signal off, so all that passes through is the fully wet reverberations.
These are RARE, and very hard to find. The folks who have them are likely keeping them. Don't sleep on this vintage studio gem.
