We love him, you should know him. John Capito over at Blacktape Amplifiers has been cooking up some real cool circuits for years.
This 2x12 combo features a point-to-point JCM800 2204/2203 preamp and phase inverter with three 12AX7 preamp and four EL84 power tubes (instead of EL34s that you'd typically find in a JCM). The power tubes are "hybrid biased", so they are both cathode biased AND fixed bias! This combo is loaded up with 2 Warehouse Veteran 30 12" speakers, perfect for that familiar vintage warmth with an extra smooth upper midrange.
Capito teamed up with local cabinet craftsman Sam Hill, who made this combo's baffle and outfitted the hardware, tolex and grillcloth. No wonder this amp looks so damn slick!
