By 1962, the Telecaster and Stratocaster were both ubiquitous successes around the world, and the Jazzmaster was busy creating its own legacy as another distinct solid-body model.

That year also marked a significant fourth entry into Fender’s original core guitars — the Jaguar. In many ways, it was more extraordinary than its predecessors.

Debuting as a premium offering and advertised as a “faster, more comfortable guitar” due to its 22 frets and significantly shorter 24” scale length, it was also feature laden, with an offset body (different from the Jazzmaster), three chrome control plates, trio of switches on the lower horn for pickup and tone controls, and spring-loaded string mute.

Fast forward six decades, and the Jaguar is still just as loved as it was the day it was released to the public, and Fender has released this incredible line of vintage spec reissues to celebrate the anniversary of one of their flagship models.

Just like the Jaguars of yore, this one is constructed of alder, weighing in at 8.68lbs, and is paired with a maple '66 C-profile neck with a thickness of 0.825" at the 1st fret and 0.960" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a 7.25" radius and some classy block inlays, and a nut width of 1.65".

It comes loaded with a stock pair of Fender 60th anniversary Jaguar single coils with that classic vintage tone. They have output ratings of 6.21k in the neck and 6.26k in the bridge.

This sweet offset axe shows some minor signs of playwear, but is in overall excellent playing condition. Like every guitar at EMS, our in-house luthiers have given this Jag a full fret level and fresh setup to ensure that it plays like butter with low, easy action, spot-on intonation, and zero fret buzz or splatty notes.

We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe in its original Fender hardshell case. Feel free to give us a call here at the shop with any questions you may have about it!
