By any other name this guitar would still sound sweeter than honey. A throwback from the early era of rock ‘n’ roll, the Tennessee Rose is a solid performer with the sound and the style that have made Gretsch a household name.
This honky tonkin' deep cherry stained hollowbody features a smooth C-profile maple neck measuring 0.811" at the 1st fret and 0.937" at the 12th, a 12" radius rosewood fretboard with zero fret, and a nut width of 1.708". It comes loaded with a set of twin Filtertron pickups, and a plethora of tone options with all those controls.
Let's talk switches! Switches, switches everywhere!
- Top Bout, Left Switch - Pickup Selector: Switch for selecting the pickup position (rear for neck, middle for mixed, front for bridge).
- Top Bout, Right Switch - Master Tone Selector: Tone control switch so that the tone can be selected from three settings. The rear position emphasizes bass, the middle is neutral and the front offers a slight high-frequency roll-off.
- Lower Bout Knob - Master Volume: For adjusting overall volume.
- Bottom Front Knob - Neck Pickup Volume: For controlling the neck pickup volume.
- Bottom Rear Knob - Bridge Pickup Volume: For controlling the bridge pickup volume.
- Bottom Toggle Switch - Standby: In the center position, no sound is produced, regardless of the volume controls. Sound is produced when switched to either side position.
