There were some really fun and interesting guitars coming out of the Japanese factories in the late 50's and early 60's. Many were manufactured by the same parent company and distributed under different brand names. The LG-50, made by Guyatone, bore many different brand logos on its headstock, including Vox, Feather, and St. George.
This sweet little vintage small-bodied electric weighs in at a featherweight 5.36lbs and has a surprisingly fat D-profile neck with a thickness of 0.975" at the 1st fret and 1.15" at the 12th, perfect for lovers of the early Gibson baseball bat necks. It comes loaded up with the original stock single coil gold foil pickups (any Ry Cooder fans?). These are worth the price of admission alone.
This guitar has seen its fair share of gigs. It's got scratches and dings throughout, the saddle is bottomed out, and it is not lacking in mojo. But man this thing still plays! Our in-house luthiers have given it a spot fret level, cleaned up the wiring, and set it up for slide with action set at 7/64"-8/64".
We'll ship this sweet vintage baby to you super fast and super safe in its gig bag. Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about it!
