Whoa! Yeah! Your heart might just need a little kickstarting because this guitar absolutely screams hair metal.
This sweet riff machine of a bygone era just oozes personality both inside and out. Ibanez knocked it out of the park with this '87 RG in that stunning "road flare red" finish.
The alder body weighs in at a manageable 8.08lbs, and is complemented with the iconic maple "Wizard" neck (from its first year of production) with a width measuring 0.675" at the 1st fret and 0.79" at the 12th. The fretboard has a radius of 16", and the nut width measures 1 11/16".
The neck and middle pickup are original in this guitar, with output ratings of 7.65k and 5.57k, respectively. The bridge pickup, however, has been replaced with an absolutely blistering Dimarzio humbucker with a output rating of 14.56k!
This guitar has seen some action. It's been gigged hard in the last 40 years, as you'd expect from such a ripper! It has what appears to be a small crack repair near the nut screw, which our luthiers have inspected to ensure it's stable. Other than that, it's got some nicks, it's got some dings, all of which are purely cosmetic and only add to this guitar's mojo.
Our in-house luthiers have given this riff machine a full fret level and setup, as well as a full rewire and replaced the old 5-way blade selector switch and pots. It's ready to riff! We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe in its Ibanez hardshell case!
