Originally built by Tim Jauernig, the Bombastortion was the custom signature distortion pedal for legendary rock guitarist Jeff Kollman. It was designed to replicate the iconic Marshall lead tones, and was also soon adopted by Toto's Steve Lukather. In recent years, the Bombastortion has garnered a massive amount of hype and are incredibly rare and sought-after.

A name that many guitarists may not know, but who has had a large influence on the electric guitar industry is Johnny "Go-Go" Kallas. Johnny - or JohnK, as he now goes by - has been working on guitars since the early 70's, and playing and gigging long before that. One of his claims to fame is that he designed the original B.C. Rich Mockingbird back in 1975, and he also was a consultant to Leo Fender (yes, the Leo Fender) from 1979-1982.

In addition to his work with B.C. Rich and Fender, JohnK has also been building and working on effects pedals since 1974. He took it upon himself to build a faithful recreation of the legendary Bombastortion, so that working musicians could get that iconic lead tone without shelling out thousands of dollars for an original one. Incidentally, his clone of the circuit has in-turn garnered its own hype for being the closest thing to the original circuit on the market.

The distortion pedal features a toggle switch to select between guitar or bass modes, as well as a 3-band EQ section, making this an incredibly versatile dirt box for any stringed instrument. JohnK has since discontinued building these pedals, so they're getting harder and harder to find nowadays.

This pedal is very lightly used, and it sounds incredible! We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe! Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have about it!
