The rack-mounted SDD-3000 which appeared in 1982 was a classic digital delay that dominated the world thanks to its peerless sonic character. The classic delay effect that’s central to the guitar sounds in world-class rock bands owe a great deal to the SDD-3000, which has been the driving force behind numerous famous songs over the years.
More than a simple delay unit, the SDD-3000 has a complete modulation section with triangle, square wave, random, and envelope function. It can create unique doubling echo and flanging effects as well as bizarre pitch bends and Doppler effects.
Independent 4-position high and low filters produce considerable tonal variations in the delay time, creating a wide range of different effects. Delay time is continually adjustable at low and high speeds in 1msec steps from 0msec all the way up to to 1.023 seconds without sound quality degradation, unlike analog delay units.
