Even with all the paint scraped off, that enclosure is unmistakeable. The mighty Rat, but with a little extra oomph under the hood.
This classic hairy distortion received a modification from Keeley at some point in its life, expanding its tonal horizons. The Keeley mod swaps out some of the standard components for some higher quality capacitors, and obviously features an added 3-way toggle switch for newer distortion modes.
In the right position, this is the standard Rat circuit, just with the new capacitors for an enhanced bass response.
In the left position, this is the Phat Rat mod, featuring an added diode for a richer, more tube-like response.
In the middle position, this is the Mighty Mouse mod, with one less diode than the standard circuit for a huge output boost to drive your amp into deeper natural breakup.
Pot codes date to 1987, and you can even still see the "Woodcutter" sticker across the pots inside. It obviously shows signs of use, but it functions flawlessly. We'll ship it to you super fast and super safe!
