This is a beautiful Starla guitar from PRS! It has retro vibe for days and tone to match. Ooh la-la.
Crafted fully from mahogany it has a nice feeling wide but shallow neck profile (.880"-.900") with a 10" radius rosewood fingerboard (1.71" nut).
Turn up the volume and the Starla pickups go from clean and crisp to driving with rich harmonic overtones. The electronics layout is dead simple: a 3-way blade pickup switch, Volume control, and a Tone control with a push/pull pot, so the humbuckers can be tapped into single coils.
This guy is not without it's mods. The gloss has been removed from the back of the neck, giving it a smoother, faster feel when moving up and down the fretboard. The stock bridge has been replaced as well as the we suspect the stock tuners have been swapped for these black, PRS-style locking tuners.
This guitar has seen some play action and it's ready for more! It has dings, play wear, and buckle rash over all (see pics). It wears its scars proudly and still looks damn good. And it plays supa smooth thanks to the fret level and setup given to it by the pro techs here at EMS. It's ready for stage or studio right outta the gate.
