This lovely little Japanese lawsuit is cherry! Clocking in at 11.5 lbs, she is lean and mean and so close to the damn thing, it surpasses a lot of modern LP's by a long shot in terms of build quality, resonance, and tone. The HLS-160 is a “Historic” reproduction of the ‘59 Les Paul made by Tokai exclusively for Hibiki Music in Japan. The construction of this Tokai features a long neck tenon like you would see on a historically accurate Gibson, providing added support and sustain.
Now, all this tone and sustain is pumped through a set of high quality Sigil pickups (N: 7.59k, B: 8.11k). Sigil makes some of the most musical and sought after boutique pickups. These humbuckers absolutely rip with vintage LP tone!
Check these impressive specs:
- Mahogany body w/ Maple Cap
- Mahogany long tenon neck (Round '58-ish Profile), .899"-.966" thickness
- 12" Radius, 1.68" nut width
- Vintage style nylon nut
The luthiers here at EMS have given this guitar a full setup and insured that it ships with the level frets. This clever LP copy is very lightly used, very clean and cared for and ships with a Gibson hardshell case.
