We love a classy semi-hollow here at the shop. This snazzy axe plays as good as it looks without breaking the bank!
The Vox Bobcat and Lynx semi-hollow body guitars were initially produced in Italy during the mid-1960s. They featured unusual pickup configurations and a distinct look, which Vox has revived in the Bobcat S66! As befitting their revival, Vox has kept the historic design of these guitars unchanged, but brought them up to date by improving their playability, controlling acoustic feedback, and raising the performance of the pickups.
The body is made of laminate maple with a weight relieved spruce center block, complemented by a mahogany modern C-profile neck (0.827"-0.880") with a 12" radius premium Macassar Ebony fingerboard and a nut width of 1.68". It comes loaded up with the stock trio of S66 single coils (6.13k N, 6.02k M, 6.41k B), and weighs in at a nice & easy 6.96 lbs.
Although these Bobcats are dope when they're bone stock... this particular one has received a few modifications that make it even more rad. It's been fully outfitted with classy gold hardware including the bridge, trapeze tailpiece, 490 Hardware Tophat knobs, and Grover Deluxe tuners. Even the dang screws are gold!
The pro techs here at EMS have given it a full setup and new bone nut so that it arrives to you ready for stage or studio! It ships out lighting fast in the included original hardshell case.
