It's the 11th century, you're one of the most feared warriors in Japan. You're preparing for the greatest battle of your life. You've been told you'll be fighting the elusive "Flying Samurai". But, how is this possible? How can they be flying? Samurai armor is so heavy! Are they some spirit? Some god?!
Nope, just one seriously badass guitar that Yamaha graced us with in the 60's. Still, might wanna commit seppuku anyway. Ain't no way you're defending your family's honor against this bright blue badass weapon of shreddery.
While not a ton is known about these elusive guitars, we do know one thing. This one is all stock and ready to rock coming with all it's original electronics. All original everything for that matter. The Flying Samurai were originally built to cater to the era's ever popular surf rock sound. All while still following the eclectic Japanese stylings and shapes the country was known for at the time. To accommodate this, the good folks at Yamaha gave this thing three of their in house single coil pickups packed into a body shape that is rumored to have inspired the Ibanez Iceman.
The Samurai's maple neck is sure to please with a soft v profile and a thickness of .815" at the 1st and .935" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a comfortable 7.25" radius.
