This vintage Alvarez is certainly an eye catcher and plays as nice as it looks. The DY78 has a tone that's vibrant, resonant, and LOUD.
Crafted from rosewood+spruce with a striking natural finish, this vintage baby has been well preserved and a tone that has aged incredibly. The Soft V profile neck is made from mahogany with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard (.891"-.917"). The nut measures in at 1 11/16".
This guitar has had some mods and changes over the years. The tuners have been swapped out for these gold Grovers that hold tune great (and they look nice!). The pickguard has been replaced and it has been given an aftermarket bone nut and bridge saddle. It has been outfitted with a older Barcus Berry undersaddle pickup. All of this simply serves to make this great guitar even better.
And you know what else makes it better? The pro techs here at EMS have given the ol' girl a full setup and fret job to make sure that it arrives to you fully setup with zero issues! It is ready for stage or studio, no matter what you throw at it.
