Yeah, we know what yer thinkin'. Damn. I know. I know. It doesn't get any cooler. Mid 70's Grabber that's been fully restored by Mather Guitars here in Nashville, TN! Let's get into it!
Crafted in '75, this bass has undergone a metamorphosis thanks to our friend Steve Mather who breathed new life into this G-3! Mather first and foremost gave it a complete refin in matte black. He also custom cut the matching black pickguard. But it's still outfitted with the original hardware which looks great, having naturally aged over the last 45+ years!
All of the electronics have been replaced including the trio of pickups which are custom pickups, handwound by Mather himself. And they sound phenomenal! It retains the original controls of Vol and Tone with a 3-way toggle. The toggle in the up position kicks on the neck and middle pickups; in the down position, the middle and bridge pickups are activated. When switched to the middle position, all three pickups are activated, the neck and bridge pickups being in phase while the middle is out of phase with both.
This bass has indeed been given a new lease on life and it is ready for more. Full setup and ready for stage or studio, it weighs in at just 7.64 lbs and feels great on a strap.
This sweet, unique Grabber will ship the next day in the included gig bag.
