We're not drooling, you're drooling! Goodness gracious o' life! Want to unleash your inner Pete Townsend? This rock classic is the one to get you there.
Crafted in 1980 (on Valentine's Day no less!), this wine red Paul consist of the classic mahogany construction and maple top. Let's talk about that amazing mahogany neck (.872"-1.03")! It sports a C profile and 12" rosewood fingerboard that is comfy and fast (1.65" nut)!
The pickups and electronics are all original. The mini humbuckers have all the clarity and brilliance they're known for with the right bite when cranked through some overdrive (N: 6.26k, B: 6.36k).
This ol' tone dog definitely shows signs of playwear and love (but come on, it's almost 45 years old!). That's because she doesn't belong in a showroom somewhere. She belongs on stage and in the studio.
Overall there are signs of years of playwear along with aging. The most noticeable imperfection is by the treble side of the bridge where some of the finish has chipped away but it's not currently chipping or coming off.
Looking it over, you'll see dings along the edges of the top of the body and the sides. There are dings down the back of the neck, but none of them detract from playability. Buckle rash and dings adorn the back of the body. More signs of age and love can be found on the headstock. It has years of play on it, but it's nowhere near ready to retire!
And it weighs in at 10.38 lbs!
