It's like somebody took their trusty Delorean back in time to the golden age to bring back this golden beauty. Produced in two thousand and fourteen, this gold top Standard brings all the classic appointments to the new millennium.
Crafted from mahogany (as the gods intended), it features a slim neck (.800"-.870") with a 12" rosewood fingerboard. And don't forget the classic trapezoid inlays! *chef's kiss* The nut measures in at 1 21/32"
The star of the show here is obviously the eye catching goldtop finish and the stock P90s. The finish is classy and always gets a doulbe-take. The P90s just do their thing and do it well: clear, cutting tone with a perfect amount of bite when you want/need it. It features the traditional LP layout of Volume, Volume, Tone, Tone with a 3-way pickup selector.
Rounding out the great features of this guitar, a Bigsby has been added so you can give the chords and notes a lil wiggle when inspiration strikes. It works smooth and sounds great. It's been installed with no modification to the guitar thanks to the Vibramate Bigsby plate.
It weights in at 9.1 lbs.
This guitar is incredibly clean and has been well cared for. If you look really closely you can make out light, surface-level pick scratches on the top near where the pickguard would be. On the back there is incredibly light surface swirls and light dings. There are some holes around the bridge P90 where a humbucker had once been installed. And of course you can see the holes from where the original pickguard had been.
