Love 'em or hate 'em Paul Reed Smith guitars are meticulously made with superb attention to detail not only play-wise, but aesthetically as well.

Introduced in 1996, the Swamp Ash Special offers a wide range of tones, with the classic PRS aesthetic. The body is crafted of hand-selected swamp ash, and is complemented by a fat C-profile maple neck with thickness measuring 0.875" at the 1st fret and 0.952" at the 12th, a 9.5" radius maple fretboard, and a nut width of 1 21/32".

It comes loaded up with the stock set of McCarty humbuckers in the bridge and neck (19.11k B, 8.02k N) and a Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails pickup in the middle (5.15k). But EMS, why is there only a 3-way toggle switch for all 3 pickups? Shouldn't there be more options? We're so glad you asked. It also comes equipped with a push/pull pot that allows the player to engage the middle pickup and also split the coils of the bridge and neck pickups, so you can get that classic strat tone.

This guitar is lightly used, and it plays better than it ever has in its 25 year career, thanks to the full fret level and fresh setup from our expert luthiers here at Eastside. It'll ship super fast and super safe in its original hardshell case.
